GARDEN CLUB NEWS 2008
Now the weather is finally warming up it has got to be time to dig
in with the Montpelier Gardening Club, which runs during lunch-times
once a week or so when the weather is good.
A few parents come in to run the sessions with the children in the
infant and junior playgrounds, giving pupils a chance to plant seeds,
bulbs, plants and shrubs, dig the soil, weed and enjoy nature (and
look at worms!).

PTA - INTER SCHOOL QUIZ
Sadly for us - North Ealing Parents won the
2007 INTER-SCHOOL quiz TROPHY.
Congratulations
to 2007 winners, North Ealing Primary School
We tried hard but just couldn't beat them. A great
night was had by all. A big thank-you must go to Shirley and Ian Scott
who organised the ticket sales and also very kindly ran the bar on
the night. Final scores were -
1st Place North Ealing
2nd Place Montpelier
3rd Place St Gregorys
Ah well there's always next year.
Many
thanks to Scott Mccabe Loft Conversions who provided the £300 prize
money.

Konnie Huq from Blue Peter - visited our school - 01/12/06
On
Friday 1st December Konnie Huq an ex Montpelier Primary School
pupil came to film at our school as part of the BLUE PETER 'Shoe
Biz" Appeal Children were encouraged to wear wellies to school.
Each Child paid One Pound to the Shoe Biz Appeal fund at the school
The BBC filmed at the school on the day for a short film which will
apear on BLUE PETER on Monday 4th December.
All the money you and your friends raise by taking part in Wear Your
Wellies Day will help to buy blankets, food and care for children in
Malawi.

Gardening Club Keeps busy - is this Summer?
Hard to believe it from the weather
but these pics were taken on Thurs 2nd November - its a November
day after school - time to do a spot of gardening.
Here we are clearing the Helena Road entrance pathway and planting
Spring bulbs there and in the new planters in the Junior playground.

Ofsted Inspection Sept 2006
Our
school has been inspected by OFSTED and designated a grade 2 "good" school.
Glenda Shawley (chair of Governors) has said...
"Ofsted inspections have changed dramatically since we
were last inspected in March 2003 and many schools which, like
us, were previously graded as 'good' have suffered under the new
regime. We were therefore very pleased that the inspectors recognised
the considerable progress that we have made since the last inspection"
..."this report gives me a great opportunity to thank
the whole community for the tremendous commitment and hard
work which goes to make Montpelier the very special school
it is."

PTA INTER-SCHOOL QUIZ
Held at St Gregory's School this
year on 6th MAY,
between PTA members from Montpelier, North Ealing and St Gregorys.
MONTPELIER PTA WON ! - gaining £300 for the school
as well as a share of the proceeds from the night
A big thank you to all at St Gregorys who put on a spelndid
evenings entertainment
After a very close run contest we can all
be very proud of the Montpelier parents who attended the interschool
quiz. The total team score was several points higher than St Gregory's
PTA team and North Ealing School PTA came third this year .
The trophy will be held by our school for the next year -
WELL DONE TO ALL WHO TOOK PART -
We are making this new website
in our spare time - we want it to be a place for information and
contact details and to make the PTA more available to all. Hopefully
it will expand and improve over the next few months.
