Jeff Beeson offered to run a World Cup football watching session in the main hall using the new multimedia projector in the late afternoon/evening of the fete night which is likely to be an England game.

5. Football Event
AS and Jeff Beeson will run a football event on the morning of the FA Cup final day as a Year 3 and Year 4 5-aside tournament followed by a Parents v. Teachers 5-aside match.

6. Quiz Night

DT reported back on the last quiz night. It raised £500, it was great fun and generally
very successful.

DT also said that she has had some feedback that 3 quizzes per year is just too many. She and Yolanda are looking at other format evenings, possibly a games night, possibly some kind of gambling based evening where profits go to the school.
Jeff Beeson suggested a horse racing evening. There was some discussion of other ideas. Jackie Field suggested a fashion show which had been very successful in the past. No volunteers have come forward so far.

7. Gardening
(a) Friendship Benches
Current quote is £1300 per bench. Am Rai and Angela Martin are looking at options.

(b) Building up the earth bank by the hall
Angela and Am were not present to comment.

8. Awnings for children to stay under
Jackie Field asked if the PTA might fund awnings that allow children some shade on sunny days. She will investigate prices and options.

9. Website and E-mails

AS reported that Chris will accept any digital photos from any parent or teacher that relate to school events. AS also said that Chris and AS were investigating an online database of children’s work.

10. Any Other Business

DT: Change of Date Next car boot sale will be on April 30th.

DT: One parent has asked if they may produce a leaving book for Year 6 children. RP offered to support this project and will talk to Am Rai and the parent making the offer.

DT: Reported that a reported from a newspaper wanted to contact parents whose Year6 children had not been placed in their 1st priority requested secondary school. It was agreed this is a point for the school, not the PTA.

DT: Playground signs saying “TimeOut” would give children a place to go in the playground when they want some quiet time. DT, Jeff Beeson, Enya Glanz and Jackie Field all agreed to investigate the signs which were either £29 each wall mounted or £129 on a stand. This expenditure was agreed.

DT: Janine raised the point that a letter from school regarding cricket trials had not come home to her. She wanted to know if another notice board used in the playground for one off events. There was discussion about using easels and boards to make special points to parents at the school gates. AS asked if this is an internal school information distribution issue.
