The PTA aims to help enhance our children's education by providing extras through fundraising for the school, but also to bring people together and keep the great sense of community going in the school.

Here at Montpelier Primary School we have a very strong PTA. All of us are automatically members but each year more new people are coming forward to get involved with the various activities. Whatever you are able to contribute – your time or your ideas, it’s up to you.

Annual Events :

International Food Fair, Non Uniform Day, Xmas Disco, Summer Fete
Quiz Nights (Music, General Knowledge, Inter School), Car Boot Sales*

Achievements 2004/2005

INNOVATIONS

We also saw the launch of our FANTASTIC NEW WEBSITE www.montpelierpta.org.uk, where you can find out about what is going on in the PTA, read meeting minutes or start discussions on what you think we could be doing for events or how you think the money raised should be spent. There is also a notice-board where you can post items for sale or other notices. The site was designed and is being run by one of our parents - Check it out!

Also new is the wonderful GARDENING CLUB, which is funded and run by the PTA. The club runs at lunchtime and is open to everyone. There is no need for children to register, they just come along when it is their year's turn. The club is very popular with the children, who have been growing fruits and vegetables from seed as well as planting the new shrubs and flowers around the school.

Parents who run the gardening club are also working with Mr Rai to begin IMPROVING THE SCHOOL GROUNDS and sent out questionnaires to all children about what they would like to see in the grounds. They have also helped attract volunteers from broadcaster BskyB, who come to school on 18th August to help improve the grounds.

We will be hosting our first meeting very soon, they are usually held on a Tuesday evening. Please come along and meet the Committee and the other parents – it is a great way to network socially and help us to make 2005/2006 another successful year.
